Ruturaj Gaikwad blames teammates for CSK’s consecutive IPL 2025 losses, saying, “There is something we need to improve.”

Ruturaj Gaikwad, captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), attributed their six-run loss to the Rajasthan Royals in match 11 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati to their poor starts and misfielding. In the continuing, lucrative league, CSK suffered their second straight loss.

Wanindu Hasaranga’s four-wicket haul and Nitish Rana’s scorching 36-ball 81 helped RR win the competition for the first time.

Rahul Tripathi was dismissed following the power play and Rachin Ravindra was out from a duck as CSK failed to get off to a strong start in the chase, finishing at 176/6. For the first time in seventeen years, they have suffered a home defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Gaikwad’s heroic 63 served as the chase’s anchor, but CSK was unable to cross the finish line because wickets were dropping at regular intervals. The CSK captain clarified that batting at number three was a prearranged tactic.

Despite winning their opening match against bitter rivals the Mumbai Indians, CSK was unable to maintain the momentum. The Delhi Capitals (DC) will now play the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team on April 5 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
