This actress, who had worked with celebrities like Aamir Khan, lost her career due to the director’s one-sided devotion.

A number of Bollywood women have dazzled the public with their beauty and skill throughout the past few decades. On the other hand, actresses’ film careers were shorter than actors’ in terms of lifespan. Today, we shall discuss an actress who achieved success in Bollywood despite having no godfather. She debuted in 1983 with Painter Babu, a film directed by Manoj Kumar, and rose to fame with her second picture. Indeed! Meenakshi Seshadri is the subject of our conversation.

Meenakshi Seshadri has worked with just A-listers

Following Hero (1983), Meenakshi Seshadri shot to fame and collaborated with Bollywood’s finest actors. Her innate connection with these celebrities—Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Rajinkanth, Sunny Deol, Aamir Khan, and Govinda—made her a popular choice for many filmmakers. However, her disagreement with a director caused her successful Bollywood career to take a turn for the worse.

With a string of hits, including Meri Jung (1985), Swati (1986), Dilwala (1986), Dacait (1987), Inam Dus Hazar (1987), Parivar (1987), Shahenshah (1988), Mahadev (1989), Awaargi (1990), Jurm (1990), and Ghar Ho To Aisa (1990), Outsider Meenakshi Seshadri quickly rose to prominence as one of Bollywood’s most popular actresses. Meenakshi was a fierce rival to popular actresses like Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Kajol, and Juhi Chawla due to her consistent hits.

When unrequited love hurt her career

Meenakshi collaborated on Ghayal in 1990 alongside Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi. The first movie was hailed as a strong, female-focused film, and both were box office successes. However, Rajkumar asked Meenakshi to marry him during the filming of Damini, but she declined. They apparently got into a heated argument over Raj’s attempts to persuade her. After that, the director chose to cut her out of Damini and attempted to find a different actress. But thanks to the Cine Workers Association’s assistance, she was allowed to return to the movie, and they later collaborated on Ghatak, which was allegedly previously signed.

Meenakshi left Bollywood soon after

Meenakshi withdrew from acting in 1995 and wed Harish Mysore, an investment banker. In New York, they were legally married. After that, she relocated to Plano, Texas. The pair is the parents of a son and a daughter. Meenakshi frequently travels to Mumbai and has recently stated her desire to return to Bollywood.
